THE SUPPORTED SPINE: 6-8 PM Friday 29 May
This 2-hour all-levels masterclass focuses on building a powerful foundation in the hips and lower body to facilitate a more holistic spinal rotation. Rather than relying on passive flexibility and force, we will prioritize active gluteal engagement to anchor the pelvis, allowing the twist to rise fluidly from a stabilized base. Through targeted strength drills and mindful sequencing, you will learn how to leverage lower-body stability to unlock greater range of motion and integrity throughout the entire length of the spine.
AN OPEN INVITATION: 12:30-3 PM Saturday 30 JULY
This workshop offers a thoughtful and a more gentle exploration of spinal extension, prioritizing breath and gradual opening over forced depth. We will move through a deliberate sequence designed to mobilize the upper back, hip flexors and shoulders while maintaining a calm, regulated nervous system. By emphasizing sustainable alignment and softer transitions, we will discover how to create the space to experience the uplifting qualities of backbending with more ease and grace.
AN OPEN INVITATION Single Masterclass $69
THE ORCHESTRATED ASANA: 1-4 PM Sunday 31 May
This 3-hour teacher development course is designed for yoga teachers who want to refine the way they communicate — not by saying more, but by saying what matters most with greater clarity, confidence and impact.
Together, we’ll explore the art of precise and concise cueing, learning how to guide students in a way that feels intelligent, seamless and easy to follow. Through rhythm, theme development and the strategic repetition of key ideas, you’ll learn how to translate complex concepts into teaching points that truly land.
This is about more than cueing poses. It’s about learning how to conduct the flow of information in a room — so your students feel supported rather than overwhelmed, engaged rather than confused, and able to drop more fully into the experience you’re creatin
MORE ABOUT ADAM WHITING
When it comes down to it, Adam Whiting describes himself best as a storyteller. These stories have taken their forms through many mediums throughout the years, but they all have one thing in common; a desire to share, celebrate and investigate the beauty inherently present in this human experience.
Adam’s first love was music. With vivid memories of listening to his mother’s albums as a kid while imagining that he was the one crafting the songs and translating raw emotion into sound that could bypass the rational mind and land somewhere just behind the heart. Adam started playing the guitar at the age of twelve and studied for seven years at University of North Carolina School of the Arts where he received his Bachelor of Music degree in guitar performance.
When he moved to New York City the guitar came too and he joined the army of artists fighting to be heard over the roar of the city and each other. He wrote poetry on the stoop of his apartment in Queens and made music with some of the best musicians he had ever known. He got lost down the side streets following the sounds of bands pouring out of bars and the tags of graffiti artists who threw their portraits upon the walls. He also got lost working in insurance agencies and unloading trucks trying to make rent each month. He got lost in a storm of panic attacks and sea of depression that left him paralysed for months. And after searching through doctor’s offices, meditation halls, philosophy books and medicine cabinets, he found himself on a yoga mat.
Yoga was the scalpel that helped peel away the seemingly endless layers of anxiety, panic and sadness that had wrapped themselves around his chest. As Adam will say “Yoga taught me that underneath those layers was a place that I could access that was quiet, spacious, peaceful and forgiving. It showed me that through movement modalities, stillness practices and self-inquiry work that we are all capable of cultivating a life that is driven by purpose and connection”.
Adam began studying with teachers that he found in local yoga studios, and then he tracked down their teachers and began to walk along the path of yoga that he is still journeying on today. He has have been lucky enough to sit with and learn from many of the great contemporary minds of this practice, including Rod Stryker, Maty Ezraty, Annie Carpenter, Jason Crandell, Tiffany Cruikshank, and Dice Iida-Klein. He has studied anatomy with Tom Myers, philosophy and history with Carlos Pomeda, and meditation with Jonni Pollard. Luckily for us, he has been sharing what these teachers have transmitted for well over a decade now, teaching throughout the United States, Asia and Australia.
